Tourmalinated Quartz Generator

Dimensions: approximately 2.25" H x 1" W

Quartz generator crystal with an inclusion of thin black tourmaline rods within.

Quartz crystals are made of silicone and oxygen, but frequently contain other trace minerals and metals, which can give them a wide variety of colors. Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in Earth's continental crust.

Black Tourmaline, known as Schorl, belongs to a complex family of aluminum borosilicates mixed with iron, magnesium, or other various metals that, depending on the proportions of its components, can form in many different colors. Tourmaline is pyroelectric, meaning that it produces electricity when it becomes heated. It’s also piezoelectric, which means that it’s also capable of storing electrical charge.
